ACIL completes buy of John Allen IB

9 June 2008

IT’S ALMOST turn your back and Australian Consolidated Insurance Limited has made another acquisition lately.

Wayne Miller, ACIL group managing director, announced yesterday his group had completed the acquisition of Perth based insurance broking firm John Allen Insurance Brokers on May 31.

John Allen Insurance Brokers from now on is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Australian Consolidated Insurance Limited group of companies.

Mr Miller said this acquisition of highly experienced brokers had lifted the group’s West Australian broking team to 27 staff.

He said he was “delighted” that the acquired brokerage principal John Allen would take an instrumental role in the corporate insurance broking business growth and development of the group across Australia.

The John Allen team has moved into ACIL’s new premises, Australian Consolidated House, in Perth, with ACI Broking (WA) Pty Ltd this week.

ACI Broking (WA) Pty Ltd, WA chief executive Neil Watson has responsibility for the combined operations.

The Australian Consolidated Insurance empire ranges geographically from Perth to Auckland and in business operations from insurance broking and underwriting agencies to wealth and risk management and premium funding across Australia and New Zealand.
