ACIL hands cheque to Auckland broker

WAYNE MILLER, group managing director of Australian Consolidated Insurance Limited flew to New Zealand this week as his Perth-based insurance intermediary empire continued expansion across the Tasman.
On Wednesday he handed over the cheque for ACIL’s acquisition of Auckland based insurance broking firm Insurance Consultants Ltd and it became part of ACIL that day.
This follows the ACIL group’s successful acquisition of Tasman Insurance BrokersLtd in October 2006.
Mr Miller said he planned to merge the two businesses under the banner of Tasman Insurance Consultants Ltd. This firm will be led by Kevin Allen as CEO.
The New Zealand broking operations are further complemented by ACI’s Northshore New Zealand based financial services company Lighthouse Financial Advisors Ltd, he said.
“The acquisition also forges a relationship with the Fijian joint venture, Insurance Holdings (Fiji) Limited, contributing to our Asia Pacific service capability.”
Executive director Stephen Sinclair has assumed responsibility of ACIL’s New Zealand operations to ensure continued focus on service delivery for the combined client base.
