CUSP raises the stakes in Victoria

14 October 2008

CONSOLIDATED UNDERWRITING Services Pty Ltd is raising the stakes in Victoria as part of its expansion in eastern Australia by appointing Mark Reinhard, CEO Victoria.

His role for CUSP and each underwriting agency in the group will focus on his professional risks underwriting expertise as the group expands in Victoria.

He will underwrite for Aurora Underwriting Agency and assist in contractors’ equipment and plant insurance distribution and marketing for CEMAC.

“Mark has an excellent breadth of underwriting knowledge which will enable him to assist in the growth of CEMAC‘s existing presence in Victoria,” said Wayne Miller, managing director Consulting Underwriting Services in Perth.

Complementing CEMAC is the planned introduction in Victoria of Aurora Underwriting Agency Pty Limited.

Mr Reinhard will report directly to William Legge who is CEO of Aurora and CEMAC and who was recently promoted CEO/director of CUSP, reporting to Mr Miller as managing director of CUSP and the parent group – Australian Consolidated Insurance Limited.

Mr Miller said the underwriting agency business would match well with Mr Reinhard’s product experience that encompasses professional indemnity, directors’ and officers’, medical malpractice, association liability, employment practices liability, trustee liability, general liability, property, commercial business package, and group personal accident and sickness insurance.

The office in Melbourne is opening in December, in the meantime broker enquiries to be directed to Philip Hawkes mobile 0405 428 931.

Mr Reinhard was previously professional risks underwriter with Calliden in Melbourne.

He was responsible for all Calliden profin classes for broker binders around Australia.

Mr Miller said Mr Reinhard was CUSP’s account manager responsible for business relationship and as underwriter for most of the classes.

“We took the opportunity to discuss with Calliden and Mark,” he said, because Mr Reinhard wanted to remain in Melbourne instead of transferring to Sydney.

The Melbourne office opening will be in December to enable the company to be established properly in the Victorian capital and to enable Mr Reinhard to have a thorough familiarisation with the ACIL group.
